EU regulations! New electronic devices must be equipped with USB Type-C charging port

According to France 24, on the 28th local time, the European Parliament posted on social media that "from now on, new mobile phones, tablets, digital cameras, keyboards and other electronic devices sold in the EU must be equipped with USB Type-C charging ports." The EU believes that unifying this standard can simplify the lives of local residents, and consumers will no longer need different chargers and charging cables. The European Commission said that this move will save the EU 200 million euros a year and reduce more than 1,000 tons of electronic waste. However, the EU's requirements for laptop charging ports are not expected to take effect until early 2026, during which time relevant manufacturers will have ample time to adjust.
